About
The Irish
Heritage Pipe Band is a bagpipe and drum band based in the San
Francisco Bay Area. We compete at Highland Gatherings throughout
the United States in the Grade IV category. We also perform in
parades and special occasions to support the local Irish and Fine
Arts community. The band has been spreading the love of music
for over 20 years.
History
In 1982 W.J. Driscoll, John Mahoney and
Noreen Brosnan - all members of the Irish Pipers Band of San
Francisco - realized that there were no Irish organizations
to train young pipers and drummers in California. Because
of this, founded the Irish Heritage Pipe Band, a non-profit
educational band. Through the years the Irish Heritage Pipe
Band has trained over 100 students and performed in parades,
gatherings, and competitions throughout Colorado, Arizona,
Nevada, and California. The
Irish Heritage Pipe Band has proven over the years that it
ranks with the best Irish pipe bands in the Western US. |

In 1999 Michael
A. LeBoeuf was elected the Pipe Major and Instructor. Only 19
years-old, Mike had a tough task of rebuilding the band to competition
form from the ground up. With a lot of hard work and dedicated
members the band has grown to over 30 active members and is taking
new students.
Today
Currently
lead by Pipe Major Michael LeBoeuf and Drum Sergeant Terence Wong,
the Irish Heritate Pipe Band is returning to Grade IV competition
in 2003. Check out our schedule
to see where the band will be performing and competing.
The Irish
Heritage Pipe Band is dedicated to teaching and performing the
art of piping and drumming. We take students of all ages and teach
them piping, snare drumming, tenor drumming, and bass drumming.
